I am a young award-winning communication professional and an independent journalist based in Thimphu, Bhutan.

Currently, I am working as a Communication Specialist with the Food and Agriculture Organization in Bhutan, and is a Mongabay's Environmental Reporting Fellow.

After completing my studies in Sustainable Development, I worked with the National Newspaper of Bhutan, Kuensel, for little over four years, first as an environment and agriculture reporter, and a feature writer, and later as a Sub-Editor. I am the winner of Balipara Foundation’s Green Journalist Award in the Eastern Himalayan Region, 2023, National winner of the Best Climate Change story, 2022, and three-time winner of Bhutan Media Foundation’s Climate Change Reporting grant, and the Journalists Association of Bhutan’s Rural Reporting grant.

I am a National Geographic-trained photojournalist, having attended the photocamp series thrice in Bhutan and Washington DC.

I am a contributing writer to The Druk Journal, a journal of thoughts and ideas to address a much felt need in an evolving democracy of Bhutan.

My interest in environmental journalism that combines in-depth research and digital communication is fuelled by my upbringing in the rural landscape of Kingdom in the Eastern Himalayas. While not on assignment, I am hiking the pristine mountains and forests, reading, and writing prose.
