Megan Burns is a good news journalist and content creator on a mission to help readers learn about the inspiring people, organizations, and ideas shaping the world for the better.
Understanding that some of the world’s biggest problems can only be addressed collectively (and creatively), Megan is passionate about making deeply complex concepts and realities digestible and comprehensible for everyone – without losing out on the nuance of it all.
With a specific interest in climate, sustainability (in all its forms), human rights, and justice, Megan has written about these and other ancillary topics for Good Good Good since 2018.
In 2021 alone, Megan wrote and published over 80,000 words in good news articles and action guides. In 2022, she more than doubled that word count, publishing more than 180,000 words about good news.
Megan regularly writes for the Good Good Good website and is the editor of the Goodnewsletter, Good Good Good’s popular daily newsletter. But Megan is most well-known as the voice behind @goodgoodgoodco on Instagram, where she shares positive news and ways to make a difference with more than 360,000 followers.
Megan graduated from the School of Journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a focus in marketing and mass communication. She’s a proud cheesehead and part-owner of the Green Bay Packers, and self-appointed president of the Ted Lasso Fan Club.
In 2020, Megan accepted an invitation to participate in Target’s Impact Accelerator Program — an incubator program for early-stage startups working to make the world “better for people and the planet” — where she gained mentorship from leaders from social enterprises and mission-driven organizations.
When she’s not sending all the good news to your Instagram feed and/or inbox, Megan is probably in her garage using any power tools she can get her hands on for her latest home improvement project, snuggling with her dog, reading, or catching sunrise at the beach.
