From Yorkshire, Michael has about 20 years of journalism experience – mostly with Thomson Reuters.
He moved to Asia in 2011 and has reported from various countries across the region. Michael’s interest in climate change and human rights began while posted in Indonesia, where he covered deforestation, natural disasters and food security.
He joined the Thomson Reuters Foundation in 2017 and is currently an Asia-Pacific correspondent based in Malaysia.
