Sara Mortensen (she/her/hers) is the Campaigns Director at Fandom Forward, and a lifelong book lover.
Sara joined the volunteer staff at Fandom Forward in 2015, a decision she would say changed her life for the better. She has held numerous positions at the organization over the years from Mental Health Researcher to Campaigns Manager.
Before joining the Senior Staff at Fandom Forward, Sara worked at the San Diego-based literacy non-profit Words Alive and managed the administrative, program curriculum, and communications teams of the organization for five years.
In addition, Sara leads the curriculum writing efforts at Hope in a Box, helping to introduce queer young adult books into hundreds of classrooms across the United States.
