Sarah Sax (she/they) is the climate justice fellow at High Country News, reporting from rural Washington. She grew up in New Zealand, India and Germany although her family originally hails from the Pacific Northwest.
She studied at the University of British Columbia and has a Master of environmental science from the Yale school of the Environment.
As a journalist, she’s worked for VICE News Tonight on HBO’s climate desk, and freelanced for dozens of outlets covering climate change, agriculture, biodiversity loss, deforestation and Indigenous land rights.
While at HCN, she’s excited to dig into the intersection of climate change and systemic injustices in the Northwest.
