Tim is a postdoctoral research fellow based in Québec, Canada. He has a PhD on the cycling of carbon through global terrestrial ecosystems from the University of Cambridge and is currently affiliated with the Université du Québec en Outaouais, Harvard University and Northern Arizona University. His reserach is as much fundamental as applied. Currently, he is mainly occupied with questions about tree growth, maple syrup production, and ecosystem service provision in the face of a global environmental crisis. He created the witness tree project at Harvard Forest to teach a larger audience, mainly targeting kids in cities, about technology and nature.
When not studying plants and fungi, Tim likes to push beyong boundaries or dream up a new (ad)venture. Most likely, he will training for something. He is an accomplished athlete with world records to his name and has dabbled his fingers in documentary film making.
